11 Spots in Seattle, WA Every Vegan Foodie Needs to Try

Not only is Seattle, Washington a great place for site-seeing and tourist attractions by the ocean, there’s also so much delicious vegan food to try along the way. I used to live in Seattle for five years and it has been such a great vegan scene since. In fact, Redfin Real Estate loved the vegan food guide too they even featured me here in an article! Below is a round of some of my favorites including a video that shows 7 of them ;)

Cycle Dogs $$

5410 17th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107

First stop is in Ballard, a trendy waterfront neighborhood with cute shops, restaurants and bars. Here lives Cycle Dogs, a vegan comfort food restaurant. A highly suggested menu item here is their Nashville Hot Chick’n Sandwich that uses the brand Rebellyous Foods’ chicken patty. It’s crispy, spicy, and served with perfectly crisp French fries.

The most popular item is their Nashville Hot Chick’n Sandwich

Plum Bistro $$

1429 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122

Head south across the water down to the famous Capitol Hill neighborhood to continue this Seattle vegan food crawl over to Plum Bistro, a widely-known upscale vegan restaurant.

If you find yourself at Plum Bistro, be sure to order the “mac & yeas” appetizer—the most popular dish—and for a good reason. It’s a flavor powerhouse that’s slightly creamy, a bit oily (the good kind), and it’s truly a taste you’ll never forget. For $12, it’s smaller than I would like but it’s tiny and mighty. It’s the most recommended spot for out-of-town and local vegans alike. It’s woman and Black-owned by Makini Howell who has many vegan business ventures throughout the city.

Chophouse Row

After you’re done eating, check out Chophouse Row next door, an Instagrammable location pedestrian alley with food, drink and retail options.

Frankie & Joes $$

1010 E Union St, Seattle, WA 98122

For dessert, you can’t miss Frankie & Joes. They’re an all vegan ice cream shop with coconut and cashew based ice cream and they’re generous with their scoops. Try their chocolate flavor that’s sweetened with dates or their monthly seasonal flavor or even sample them all for yourself then decide.

Ramen Danbo $$

1222 E Pine St, Seattle, WA 98122

It’s ramen time at Ramen Danbo, an entirely vegan ramen spot that lets you customize your bowls right down to the spice level, noodle thickness and toppings. My favorite is the Classic Rekka ramen with medium spice, thick noodles and nori as an additional topping.

Life on Mars $$

722 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122

Before leaving Capitol Hill, head over Life on Mars for a drink or an appetizer. They have an exciting mocktail menu as well and they even serve brunch on the weekends. This all-vegan vinyl DJ café restaurant plays their vinyls and gives you the option to buy them too. It goes well with their low-lit, relaxing ambience.

Something worth trying is their cauliflower bites served with a blue cheese dip. The flavor hits just right, it’s not super crispy but the cauliflower is incredibly soft.

Hot Cakes $$

1650 E Olive Way, Seattle, WA 98102

Another must-try dessert spot offering something more unique than just vegan ice cream is a place called Hot Cakes. Also in Capitol Hill, it’s quiet by day but poppin’ at night. Order the vegan molten chocolate lava cakes that’s paired with vegan ice cream. The key is to break the top of the cake so that the chocolate on the inside oozes out, then take a scoop of the ice cream it’s served with and dip it in the chocolate—if that doesn’t make your mouth water, I’m not sure what will.

Pike Place Market $

Next up, if you want to experience a true Seattle meal while in one of the most popular Seattle tourist attractions, go to Pike Place Market and head down Post Alley for Pike Place Chowder—they offer a vegan lime and coconut chowder—hard to pass up.

Inside the market you can purchase everything from snacks to dried fruit and nuts and veggies. And of course, take a selfie in front of the gum wall.

Mee Sum Pastry $

1526 Pike Pl, Seattle, WA 98101

Other vegan travel friendly Pike Place vegan items to keep in mind while strolling the streets of Seattle are Mee Sum Pastry where they have their vegetable hombow, or a vegan steamed vegetable bun.

Piroshky Piroshky $

1908 Pike Pl, Seattle, WA 98101

Another Pike Place vegan friendly spot in the heart of Seattle is the popular eastern European chain, Piroshky Piroshky, which introduced new vegan options back in 2019. And then wait in line to try the iconic original Starbucks, then walk all this food off by walking to the space needle.

Chu Minh Tofu $- $$

1043 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104

This all vegan Vietnamese Restaurant is an iconic staple to Seattle. Located in the International District, it is one spot that you can’t pass up! I absolutely loved getting their Hú Tu Nuóc Soup, the crepe is a must, you eat it wrapped up with lettuce and an amazing sauce. And you can never go wrong with a bahn mi! Everything is so flavorful. You can order buffet style or from a menu. They also have tasty Vietnamese coffee with coconut condensed milk.

Lazy Cow Bakery $$

3418 Fremont Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103

If you’re looking for vegan croissants, pastries, or epic veggie paninis with an amazing cup of coffee then this is the cafe for you! Located in the Fremont neighborhood with a plethora of cafes, its definitely a spot worth checking out. I just love the plethora of pastries that they offer. And have to hype up the veggie panini they had. So good. My favorite thing about this spot is that they offer a community pantry to give access of free food for those in need. The coffee they offer is Zapatista Coffee which is a roaster in Chiapas they work directly with to help empower that community.
